Congratulations to Big Umbrella Media
The Advantage Creative Fund is very pleased to announce that one of their investees Big Umbrella Media, a video production company, has won a Royal Television Society Award for an ”outstanding broadcast programme created by an independent company based in the Midlands”.
The award was for the BBC2 documentary ‘The Goddess and The King’ which told the story of a 10-year-old girl worshipped as a living goddess in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. It followed the Nepalese tradition of a young female living Goddess giving her blessing to the King of Nepal to secure his future reign. “The Goddess and The King” was screened on the BBC in November last year and around the world.
“It’s a great honour to be recognised by television’s foremost industry body and we’ll be proud to add this to our trophy cabinet. In the 6 years we’ve been established, we’ve built a strong reputation for quality television and first-rate corporate work.” said Martin Head, founder and Managing Director of Big Umbrella Media, following the presentation of the Award. “We would like to use our expertise and experience to help local businesses especially during this unstable economic climate”
